Ocean Action

Community,  Development,  Planning,  Product

Digital hub Photo: Matt Curnock / Ocean Image Bank Project mission Ocean Action is a central, unbiased digital hub designed to help individuals take meaningful action to protect the ocean, wherever they are in the world.  Ocean Action brings everything together in one place. We reduce overwhelm by offering a clear starting point, helping people move from concern to action.  We don’t compete or gatekeep, we collaborate. Ocean Action connects people to trusted organisations, tools, and opportunities, helping them to act with confidence and purpose. The website will be launched soon. Co-creator 2025 – present Ocean Action started through connections I made at Terra.do – one of those perfect examples of how great collaborations happen when you bring together people with complementary skills who care about the same mission. I took the lead on designing and building our digital hub from the ground up. This meant everything from conceptualising the site structure and user experience to getting my hands dirty with the technical implementation in Webflow. I wanted to create something that actually makes it easy for people to find their way from “I care about the ocean” to “here’s what I can do about it.” Beyond the website build, I established the workflow processes and documentation that keep the team and volunteers organised and efficient. We’ll soon be moving into Phase 2, where I’ll be diving deeper into business and product strategy, content curation, and refining our user journey to make ocean action even more accessible.

Regenerative Solutions Project mission As the natural ecosystem is increasingly at risk of being depleted, we must think of the highest impact systems of regenerative and climate solutions for the planet and people at scale. Learnings from the RegenIntel Foundations Course has allowed me to think through the lens of navigating a system of climate solutions using regenerative principles. Solution The result is that I’m developing a marine conservation and restoration data platform that mobilises a community to provide data points, ensuring that technology x local empowerment x regenerative principles can work together. Creator and Product Lead 2024-present My focus is on ideation, discovery and implementation of a citizen science tool. As well as leading product strategy and vision, design and development, I am focused on the business strategy and operational model. This project is still in stealth mode. User acceptance testing Goal:  1. Prior to MVP release, we conducted a test day to identify bugs and usability functionality.2. Pre-pilot test with client. Action:  1. Wrote test plan for users to test individual features and acted as product expert/support where needed.2. Worked with pilot team for messaging, expectations and created surveys. Result: 1. Identified issues that required fixes before launch, 7.5% were critical.2. Technical issues were discovered that led to re-evaluation of the platform stability, resulting in architecture and workflow reviews. Planning & Development Roadmap & backlog Goal: Set clear roadmap and prioritised backlog. Action: Following development and user testing, I am working on a clear roadmap taking into account the product strategy and expected inputs from the business and its goals. Result: I am creating a 6-12 month roadmap and backlog that prioritises and optimises existing and new features iteratively. Desktop platform MVP launched on desktop.
